Delivering Precision Concrete Works for Critical Water Infrastructure

Ardee Civil delivered approximately 2,000 m2 of reinforced concrete pavement for Sydney Water’s Western Region Delivery Team at the Austral Pump Station. The works also included the construction of twin 12-metre-long, 2.7-metre-diameter culverts, two permanent crane pads to support lifting operations, 280 metres of kerb and gutter integrated with site access roads, and the installation of protective bollards to enhance site safety and durability. Complex reinforcement placement, specialist formwork, detailed finishing and curing were undertaken in line with Sydney Water’s stringent specifications.

The project was delivered through a carefully sequenced approach, including staged large pours to manage program and maintain site access, specialist reinforcement and formwork techniques for the culverts and crane pads, and close coordination with adjoining civil and access works. Comprehensive QA and verification testing were undertaken throughout delivery to ensure full compliance with Sydney Water requirements.
